Vibrant County Journal

Editorial policy

Vibrant County Journal aims to explain county geography and place names clearly, with a healthy respect for what a map or a familiar story cannot prove. We distinguish established information from interpretation, and take responsibility for correcting errors.

Accuracy and context

We check names, descriptions and claims against suitable source material before publication. A place name can have competing explanations, and a boundary can change meaning by context; we do not flatten those complications into certainty. We make clear when an article offers an interpretation, and revise wording when better information changes the account.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a favourable mention or placement. A collaboration does not buy control over our conclusions. We do not imply that an organisation, product or place has been tested or endorsed when it has not.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us with the article subject, the detail in question and any useful context. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted. Where a change materially affects an article, we make the correction clear rather than silently presenting a changed account as if it had always been there.

Paid material and illustrations

Paid or partner material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from editorial coverage. Commercial relationships do not determine editorial conclusions. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when they are, they are identified as such, and are not presented as documentary evidence of a real place.
